Why these events need their own mobility plan
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is organising WETEX 2026 from 20–22 October at Dubai World Trade Centre, while the World Green Economy Summit runs on 21–22 October at the same venue. WETEX also dedicates Hall 4 to Green Mobility, including electric and hydrogen vehicles, charging technologies and fleet-management solutions.
That creates a different travel pattern from a single exhibition visit. Some delegates will stay inside DWTC all day; others will combine sessions with meetings, partner visits or site appointments elsewhere in Dubai. Build transport around the calendar rather than renting a car by default for the entire stay.
When is Metro simpler?
- Your whole day is at DWTC or along Sheikh Zayed Road.
- Your hotel is close to a Metro station and the route is direct.
- You are not carrying large equipment or business materials between meetings.
In these cases Metro can remove the time and uncertainty of parking during exhibition peak periods.

- You are visiting facilities or projects outside convenient Metro coverage.
- A small team needs to move together between appointments.
- Your working day starts early or continues well beyond exhibition hours.
Green Mobility does not mean an EV fits every itinerary
The Green Mobility focus naturally puts EVs on the agenda, but an electric rental should still match the trip. Check usable range, charging near the hotel or meeting locations, and the required return charge. If your schedule is tightly packed with no practical charging stop, a petrol or hybrid vehicle may be easier.
Pre-arrival checklist
- Split the itinerary into “DWTC-only” and “multi-meeting” days.
- Compare hotel location with the nearest Metro station and parking access.
- If renting, review Salik, parking and mileage limits.
- Avoid scheduling vehicle collection immediately before your first critical meeting.
- Keep a backup option—Metro or taxi—when the exhibition area is congested.
Compare the car around the workday
